Homemade Honey Nut Baklava

Layers of crispy phyllo, crunchy nuts, and a golden drizzle of The Bee Works Honey—this sweet treat is easier than you think and totally delicious! 

Ingredients:
1 package phyllo dough (16 oz), thawed
2 cups mixed nuts (walnuts + pistachios + almonds = YUM)
1 tsp cinnamon
1 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup The Bee Works Golden Honey
½ cup sugar
½ cup water
1 tsp vanilla extract
A squeeze of lemon juice


Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Pulse nuts + cinnamon in a food processor until finely chopped.
Brush a 9x13” pan with butter. Layer 8 sheets of phyllo, brushing each with butter.
Sprinkle a thin layer of nuts. Layer 2 more phyllo sheets, butter, more nuts... repeat!
Finish with 8-10 buttered sheets on top. Cut into diamonds (or cute squares!).
Bake for 45–50 min until golden and crisp.
While it bakes: In a saucepan, heat The Bee Works honey, sugar, water, vanilla, and lemon. Simmer 10 min.
Pour warm syrup over hot baklava. Let soak (and resist the urge to eat it right away!).
 Let it cool, then share (or don’t). Best enjoyed with tea + a smile!
