Phacelia seeds are sold by the pound.
The Phacelia plant produces an abundance of both Nectar and Pollen which is particularly attractive to honeybees. This is one of the best spring forage sources and a widely used bee crop plant in North America and is often used in bee regeneration programs in the British Isles. The fragrant blue flowers produce nectar continuously throughout the day.
Direct sow Purple Tansy seeds at three-week intervals from April to June and expect a staggered, much-extended bloom period. Phacelia grows up to 70cm (28") in full sun or part shade.
Seeding Rate: If planting as a cover crop, use 5lb. per acre. Denser planting of 8-10 lb. per acre will control weeds.
